High Adventure Treks for Dads & Daughters IS
for dads and daughters that want to learn:
·
To communicate with each other.
·
Outdoor skills involving canoeing, rock-climbing,
mountain biking, and backpacking.
·
Lifelong skills in safety and first aid in dealing
with those activities.
·
Meet other dads and daughters that they will be in
school with for the next 6 years.
·
How to form a relationship with each other that is
based on doing things together.
The mission of HATS is to use all of these
outdoor activities to put dads and daughters into situations where
they must to talk to one another… learn to communicate… trust
and respect each other… and work together as a team. These are
skills that they will use for the rest of their lives!
In light of our mission goals, here are some
things that on every adventure, HATS IS NOT:
·
We discourage bringing any type of electronic devises.
(CD players, MP 3
players, i-pods, boom boxes, play stations, game boys, x box, lap
tops and cell phones, except for emergencies.)
·
We discourage the use of alcohol by the dad.
(High Adventure Treks
for Dads & Daughters is about putting dads and daughters
together to learn to communicate.
It’s hard to communication with alcohol involved. We feel
that if you cannot go two days without a “drink,” in order to be
with your daughter; there is probably another organization better
suited for you).
Finally, a simple rule: if the dad doesn’t come, the
daughter doesn’t come, and vise versa.
You give each other value by giving each other your time.
